LearnWell is an AI-powered platform that creates personalized study experiences for university students. It transforms course materials into adaptive lessons based on each student's learning style and needs, providing tailored study materials, project ideas, and schedules.
Solution
LearnWell operates through a five-step process that puts student wellbeing at the center of learning. When students create accounts, they share information about their learning preferences, mental health challenges, available study time, and personal goals. They then upload course materials like lecture slides, notes, or textbooks in PDF format. The AI analyzes this content and generates personalized lessons that match the student's learning style, whether they prefer visual, auditory, or hands-on approaches. The platform also suggests real-world projects for portfolio building and creates realistic weekly study schedules that respect the student's capacity and wellbeing, including built-in breaks and rest periods.
Challenges
LearnWell addresses the fundamental problem that traditional education materials are one-size-fits-all and don't account for diverse learning needs. The platform specifically helps students with anxiety disorders who avoid overwhelming textbooks, students with ADHD who struggle with lengthy lecture notes, individuals with dyslexia who need alternative formats, international students dealing with complex academic English, and anyone balancing demanding schedules or mental health challenges. The platform recognizes that students aren't just brains to fill with information but whole people with lives, struggles, strengths, and aspirations that affect their learning capacity.
Results
LearnWell utilizes the Anthropic API to power its core AI functionality for generating personalized study plans and project ideas. The platform includes a file upload system that processes PDFs of course materials, a behavior analysis engine that tracks user preferences and learning patterns, and an adaptive content generation system that transforms dense academic content into accessible formats. The system incorporates text-to-speech functionality for accessibility, supports multiple content presentation formats, and includes a wellbeing monitoring system that adjusts lesson delivery based on students' emotional states and stress levels.
