LectureQuest is an interactive platform by Team AlphaLearn that turns dense lecture notes into gamified quizzes, designed especially for students with ADHD who learn best through problem-based, trial-and-error learning. It uses spaced repetition and progress tracking to make studying more engaging, consistent, and effective.
Solution
LectureQuest operates by taking source materials such as textbooks and lecture notes and converting them into interactive, formative quizzes that engage students actively rather than passively. The platform incorporates spaced repetition learning principles to optimize long-term retention while simultaneously building study habit consistency and progress tracking.
Challenges
LectureQuest addresses several critical learning barriers. The primary challenge is that lecture notes are often terse and dense, making them difficult for many students to process effectively. The platform specifically targets students with ADHD who struggle with extensive reading and learn better through doing rather than absorbing written content.
Results
The platform was developed through an iterative prompting approach where features were written in brief descriptions, expanded into full specifications, and then deployed incrementally. Built using React with TypeScript as the core framework.
